Acura NSX GT3 unveiled
Acura unveiled its much awaited hybrid supercar NSX GT3 at the 2016 New York Auto Show (NYAS 2016). This racing version will hit the tracks in 2017 (Demo Photo courtesy: http://cdn.arstechnica.net). According to Digital trends, the GT3 uses the same 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 as the stock NSX, but the road car’s complex all-wheel drive system was ditched in favor of a simpler, rear-wheel drive setup. The V6 is now connected to a six-speed sequential gearbox, rather than the nine-speed dual-clutch transmission in the stock version, the report said.
The “GT3” in “NSX GT3” refers to the FIA GT3 class for modified production cars.
The NSX series has been engineered to be the perfect balance of power and handling, form and function, sport and luxury, says Acura. The same innovations that went into the NSX can be found across the Acura lineup.
Each NSX is individually painted and hand-finished. The entire paint process occurs in-house over the course of more than 20 hours per car, the car maker says. The NSX interior’s lush colors, luxe materials and sleek lines combine beauty with purpose in an environment crafted entirely to support its driver.
